Lake Tahoe, surrounded by pristine mountains and forests, is the second deepest lake in the U.S. and the largest alpine lake in North America.  The gem-like blue water is unmatched.  The year-round world destination is home to several ski resorts, boating, paddleboarding, sailing, hiking, biking, and more.  Regardless of the season, you can find a scene that fits your style for portraits, weddings, and elopements, from a quiet lake-side venues to sweeping vistas.

Lake Tahoe

  • South Shore (via Hwy 50 from Carson City): Faces North

    • Elopements: Zephyr Cove Beach, Valhalla Estate

    • Portraits: Kiva Beach/Taylor Creek, Baldwin Beach, Fallen Leaf Lake, Tahoe Paradise Park

  • West Shore (continuing north on Hwy 89): Faces East, so sunrise is best.

    • Elopements: Emerald Bay (permit required, sunrise shore)

    • Portraits/Adventure: Eagle Falls/Eagle Lake, D.L. Bliss State Park, Meeks Bay, Hurricane Bay

  • North Shore (via Hwy 431 from Reno, or around from West Shore)

    • Portraits: Speedboat Beach, Kings Beach, Hidden Beach, Tahoe City & Marina, Brockway Summit overlook

  • East Shore, Nevada (via Hwy 431 from Reno): Faces West, so sunset is best.

    • Elopements: Sand Harbor (permit required, sunset shore), Secret Cove, Logan Shoals Vista Point (two-person only)Adventure: Cave Rock, Monkey Rock/East Shore Trail, Bonsai Rock (sunset/drone)

NOTE: There are 5 counties around Tahoe (Placer, El Dorado, Dougles, Washoe, and Alpine.  It is important to get marriage licenses in the correct place.

NOTE: Some of these locations may require permits like Sand Harbor and Emerald Bay.
