Megan Guffey is an Eastern-Sierra and Carson Valley-based photographer specializing in weddings & elopements, portraits, adventure, and landscape photography by blending natural, true-to-life and storytelling imagery throughout Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, June Lake, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa, and beyond!
With a background in customer service, wilderness leadership, guiding, teaching, adaptive sports, and the arts, I bring a calm, attentive presence and a strong sense of timing when working with people. I’m adaptable and grounded, and I focus on helping people feel comfortable in any setting—from backcountry landscapes to weddings and everyday moments.
Landscape & Nature
The Eastern Sierra has been a lifelong inspiration for my photography and my connection to the outdoors. From alpine lakes and rugged peaks to desert storms, fall aspens, and remote backcountry landscapes, my work focuses on the light, atmosphere, and emotion that make these places unforgettable. While much of my work is rooted in Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite, Mono Lake, Tahoe, and Hope Valley, it also extends across the country and beyond. I’m especially drawn to fleeting moments—early morning alpenglow, shifting weather, fog, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed in wild places.

Family sessions are relaxed, playful, and centered on real connection rather than stiff posing. Whether we’re in the aspens of Hope Valley, along the Lake Tahoe shoreline, or in the sunset light of the Eastern Sierra, the focus is always on natural moments and genuine interaction.

Working throughout the Eastern Sierra, Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley, and surrounding areas, I create images that capture both the overall atmosphere and the smaller candid moments that often become the most memorable.
